# What is asset origination?

The first part of the tokenization process is asset origination, which involves:

* Representing the asset and legal entity behind it on our platform
* Defining token information and parameters
* Generating the token pool for distribution to investors
* Synchronizing the asset and related tokens on the blockchain

This creates a foundation for the distribution phase.
